Sample Tracking With Lab-i
Keeping track of hundreds of different samples from various clients in a laboratory is challenging. The unique scanning system means that analysts and laboratory assistants simply have to scan each sample's individual bar code to gain access to all information relevant to the sample. The person in possession of the sample at any particular point will be able to see what the sample has already been tested for, who else worked on the sample and which tests still need to be performed.
By typing entering the bar code of each sample, the laboratory manager can easily track the progress of the sample in the laboratory and give up to the minute feedback to clients when required.
Lab-i's biometric system logs analysts in to the system using fingerprint identification. Because analysts can only access the system through fingerprint identification each analyst can be held completely accountable for the tests performed. The biometric system, combined with bar coding, enables managers to monitor how many samples each analyst processes and how much time analysts spend on each sample.
