Environmental Auditor sees more Gains in greater Functionality

The greatest determiner of profitability in the service sector is the functionality, flexibility and the scope of your system.  This is the opinion of Gustav Piater, marketing director for QBCon, the business solution provider.  He should know.  QBCon has recently completed a functional expansion of the environmental consulting house, Green Gain Consulting’s, DigiLex system.

Green Gain needed to expand their service offering that provides Environmental Legal Compliance Services, Environmental Awareness Training, Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Legal Register and Auditing services. The new system is an integrated legal compliance system that performs as a legal compliance tool allowing the user to have access to all the suites of the Safety, Health and Environmental field. The enhancements will directly benefit Green Gain clients like Sappi, Engen SA, and Liberty Life.

Green Gain realised that the use of technology combined with a better understanding of the legal compliance/auditing field brings new opportunities to improve and expand its service offering. That in turn gives it greater opportunities to generate more revenue. Tasked with making the system administration more efficient, QBCon added more client management functionality and enhanced system usability and user friendliness. The QBCon upgrade leaves room for future growth and further improvements that are expected as Green Gain grows and adjusts to a changing environment and customer demands.

The upgraded system operates through a collection of web-based programme modules. The environmental and health and safety suites have been migrated from the previous system, allowing Green Gain clients to measure any type of compliance against a set of predefined legal requirements. Each suite has its own legal register, general or client specific documents, aspects and impacts, or risks and hazards, as well as audit and reporting facilities. Green Gain also required that the new system be configurable in an offline mode for several of its clients.

The offline mode facilitates an on-site installation of the system that includes a database synchronised directly from the online database, specific to a client’s needs. The offline installation allows for periodic updates, as well as the exporting of information in a standard file format, allowing external client specific systems to import the information.
