Midvaal Water Asks QBCon to write URS

Midvaal Water Company has signed up the Lab-i developer and vendor, QBCon, to complete a Business analysis and User Requirement Specification (URS). Lab-i is a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), which is developed by the business solution provider QBCon.

Midvaal Water Company, a water and wastewater laboratory operates a water treatment plant facility which extracts water from the Vaal River and uses 56 filters as part of the process. The company supplies potable water for the Klerksdorp, Orkney, Stilfontein and Hartebeesfontein (KOSH) area.

Midvaal Water constantly improves its laboratory with the most state-of-the art equipment and software and by using skilled personnel. As part of its upgrading process Midvaal has commissioned QBCon to complete a user requirement specification to determine which customisations their ideal LIMS system will have.  The URS process will include a thorough evaluation of the Midvaal work process.  One of the advantages of QBCon’s Lab-i is that it can be adapted to suit the client’s working methodology rather than requiring the client to adapt to the system. The ultimate goals of the system are to reduce the volume of paperwork, improve traceability and reduce operating cost by improving efficiencies.

This is the first step towards achieving a continuing relationship with the water and wastewater laboratory for QBCon.
